Using Cellular Automaton to Simulate Urban Expansion in Changchun , China

چکیده
Urban expansion is a complex spatial transformation process over time. It converts various land-use types into urban lands, therefore gradually increase the size of urban areas. The research in simulation and prediction of urban expansion can provide us with two benefits: one, we would be able to grasp the pattern of the complex process of a city's expansion; and the other, we may be able to foresee a possible problem that may occur during expansion, and deal with it ahead of time to create the best suitable plan for the city's structure and layout. In our experiment, we designed a Visual Basic (VB) program, and applied binding conditions and random factors to simulate the process of urban expansion using Cellular Automaton (CA) as a model. This experiment was based on selected previous research, and used the city of Changchun as an example. Our results indicate that it is feasible to model urban expansion with the sprawling process of CA. Copyright © 2014 IFSA Publishing, S. L.

Simulation of Urban Expansion and Farmland Loss in China by Integrating Cellular Automata and Random Forest
China has encountered serious land loss problems along with urban expansion due to rapid urbanization. Without considering complicated spatiotemporal heterogeneity, previous studies could not extract urban transition rules at large scale well. This study proposed a random forest algorithm (RFA) based cellular automata (CA) model to simulate China's urban expansion and farmland loss in a fine sc...

In this paper we proposed a Cellular Automaton based local algorithm to solve the autonomously sensor gathering problem in Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks (MWSN). In this problem initially the connected mobile sensors deployed in the network and goal is gather all sensors into one location. The sensors decide to move only based on their local information. Cellular Automaton (CA) as dynamical sy...
متن کاملSimulating Block-Level Urban Expansion for National Wide Cities
Large-scale models are generally associated with large spatial modelling units, for example, counties or super grids (several to dozens of km2). Few applied urban models can achieve a large spatial coverage with irregular spatial units due to data availability and computation load. The framework of automatic identification and characterization of blocks developed by Liu and Long (2016) makes su...

Background: C5areceptor antagonistPMX205 is a synthetic hexapeptidecapable of blocking C5a-C5a receptor (C5aR) axis by simulating C5a active C-terminal amino acid residues. This hexapeptide presents good anti-inflammatory effects in a myriad inflammation models. The anti-inflammatory effect of PMX205 on periodontitis is yet to be fully fathomed. Objective: To examine the anti-inflammatory effec...
متن کاملAnalysis of the Effectiveness of Urban Land-Use-Change Models Based on the Measurement of Spatio-Temporal, Dynamic Urban Growth: A Cellular Automata Case Study
Developing countries have been undergoing dramatic urban growth over the past three decades. It is essential to understand and simulate the urban growth process for smart urban planning and sustainable development purposes. Cellular automata (CA) modeling is an efficient approach to simulating urban land use/cover change; however, the traditional CA method has limitations in simulating the vari...
